iReports in the TopEase web portal
Since version 6.3.4, TopEase has had an integrated, powerful report engine for iReports/Jasperreports. With this report engine, any individual reports can be easily created in a wide variety of output formats.
With version 6.3.5, the extensive reporting functionalities of iReports are available not only in TopEase Designer, but also in the web portal.
Using a simple export function, the iReports are converted into TopEase web reports and registered in the web portal, where they can be run like any other TopEase web report.
Seamless integration of GAP analysis and change management
The comparison view of the TopEase Designer shows differences between two TopEase models in real time. The new integration of comparison view and project management in TopEase allows a task for the removal of a GAP to be created directly in the comparison view. The GAP analysis is optimally integrated into the change process. Project planning is carried out without any delay directly at the time when the GAP is observed.
Lifecycle status for predictive company development
Lifecycle concepts facilitate the predictive planning of change processes in the company. Current information about the lifecycle phase of products, applications, processes and documents etc. therefore constitutes an important and fundamental body of data for management.
With TopEase 6.3.5, the lifecycle status can be defined on almost all TopEase objects. To illustrate the lifecycle status, the life phase of company elements can be analysed and visualized in reports and diagrams.
Identifying what is important – highlighting function for diagram shapes
Numerous diagram types that can be used to illustrate various aspects (processes, products, organizational structures, sequence flows, system architectures and dependencies etc.) are available in TopEase.
With the new highlighting function, certain properties of an object can be highlighted in a diagram to alert the user to essential information. Communication and understanding are decisively improved.
Either the status of different objects can be selected as properties to be highlighted in a dialog box or the property to be highlighted is defined by a filter. An automatically generated key in the diagram explains the assignment of colors and properties.
Simple TopEase administration by internet browser
The TopEase-AdminClient has been used to date for administering TopEase models and TopEase web portals.
With version 6.3.5, web portals are now administered using the internet browser. With the new manageable administration GUI, the web portal can now be administered from any computer with internet access. In the next TopEase versions, the TopEase XChange Server Administration will likewise be moved to the web portal. The ultimate goal is complete web-based administration of TopEase. An installation of the TopEase AdminClient will then no longer be necessary.
New “Shareowner” role: optimized distribution of roles in the administration of web portals and shares
Until now, the TopEase administrator was responsible for all administrative tasks concerning portal and share management.
With the new role of the “Shareowner”, administrative tasks that involve the allocation of rights and activation of functionalities for certain user groups in particular are transferred to the people responsible from the relevant departments. The communication effort between TopEase administrators and the departments is reduced. Changes can be implemented immediately, if required, by the relevant department.
Layout optimization
On the overview pages in the web portal diagrams are now displayed by default as thumbnails. This improves the load time of the overview pages and makes it easier for the user to gain an overview of the content. Clicking on a thumbnail loads the diagram in its original size.
Further layout optimization in the web portal creates a less cluttered look and feel overall and makes it easier to navigate around the web portal.
